CFC — flow and pressure controller (DN50 to DN200)

The CFC (CALMS Flow Controller) is a control valve that regulates the flow and pressure delivered to the network, line by line. By lowering and stabilizing pressure on the demand side, it eliminates artificial demand — the air consumed in excess simply because the pressure is too high. Driven by the CAL-PM unit, it delivers the effect of a full energy-management system at a fraction of the investment.

Field challenge

Without flow control, the whole network operates at the pressure of the most demanding point — often 10 to 20 psi too high for the rest of the plant. Every excess psi increases leaks, equipment consumption and artificial demand. And every demand peak passes straight through to the compressors.

Measurable benefits

Stable pressure adjusted per production line, setpoints programmable by schedule, and compressors isolated from demand peaks — so less idle running. The real saving depends on the pressure gap recovered on your network; we quantify it during the assessment. The valve measures continuously (pressure, flow, temperature) and feeds the platform’s automatic energy analysis.

Frequently asked questions

Which diameter should I choose?

The diameter is chosen by the line's design flow, not the diameter of the existing pipe. The model table below gives the ranges; we validate the sizing with you as part of the quote.

Where do the savings come from?

From pressure lowered on the demand side: every 2 psi removed is worth about 1% of energy, and leaks fall in proportion to pressure. The valve also isolates the compressors from demand peaks, which reduces idle running.

Do I need a CAL-PM to use it?

The CFC is designed to work with the CAL-PM unit, which provides its online regulation and optimization. It's the valve + control together that produces the savings.
