CALMS-ULD

ULD — ultrasonic leak detector with app

The ULD is an ultrasonic microphone that plugs into an Android phone and locates compressed air leaks in plant noise. Its app quantifies each leak found immediately: estimated flow and annual cost in dollars. It’s the fastest tool to turn a leak-repair program into concrete numbers.

Field challenge

On most networks, leaks consume 20 to 30% of the air produced. They’re invisible and, in the ambient noise, inaudible. Without numbers, repairs are pushed back — the leak that costs $1,500 a year waits behind emergencies that cost less.

Measurable benefits

Leak hunting becomes measurable: each leak is located, photographed, quantified and exportable (CSV) or synced to the CALMS leak-management system. You prioritize repairs by real cost, and you verify the gains after repair. ISO 11011 compliant, the standard for compressed air system assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have to stop production to detect leaks?

No. The ultrasound of leaks stands out from plant noise, and the microphone includes ambient-noise filtering. Detection is done during normal operation — it's even preferable, since the network is under pressure.

How is the cost of a leak estimated?

The app converts the ultrasonic signature into an estimated leak flow, then into an annual cost based on your energy rate. Built-in calculators validate the estimate. CSV export and CALMS sync allow tracking of repairs.

Is it compliant with assessment standards?

Yes, the tool complies with ISO 11011 (compressed air system assessment) — the same basis as our audits.
